Elite Scouting Florida Top 100
1) Aaron
Murray-Plant-QB-61-200- (Committed to Georgia) - Elite first glance at Murray
was last year at the UCF 7-on-7. Since then all the Plant star has done is
become the top prospect in Florida. The only knock on the Plant star is that he
is not 63-64. He has the arm, can run and his leadership skills are second to
no one.
2) Jacobbi
McDaniel-Madison Co.-DT-61-275-(Committed to Florida State) we have seen
McDaniel on the practice field and then again in the state championship last
year where he pretty much dominated. While not the biggest defensive tackle on
the board, McDaniel is by far one of the best. He has a super quick first step
off the ball and a motor that does not stop.
3) Willie
Downs-Godby-WR/DB-62-200- (Committed to Florida State)-Downs is a two-way
standout that can play on either side of the football in college. He may be the
best pure athlete in the state of Florida this year. Only Downs can stop
himself from being a top player at the next level.
4) Andre
Dubose-Seminole-WR/Ath.-510-175- Electric, thats how you would describe
Dubose with the football under his arm. He is one of those types of players
that can turn the momentum of a game on one play. Now he needs to help lead his
team into the play-offs.
5) Trent
Richardson-Escambia-RB-510-215-(Committed to Alabama)-The last time a big time
player came out of Escambia that played running back his name was Emmitt Smith.
Here is a kid that can pretty much dominate a game. He had over 400 yards in a
game last season. Richardson is built like a little bowling ball and is tough
to bring down. He has good vision, balance and his athletic ability is pretty
darn good for a running back.
6) Eugene
Smith-Miramar-QB-63-185- Along with Murray, Smith is one of the elite
quarterbacks in the country. He has the physical attributes you look for in a
quarterback: good arm, mobility, and solid decision making skills. There is not
much not to like about Smith. He is still a bit raw as a prospect but his
upside is off the charts.
7) Gary
Brown-West Gasdsen-DT-62-280- (Committed to Florida) - Brown is right there as
one of the top defensive tackles in the country. What you like is how quickly
he gets up the field and makes plays in the opposing teams backfield. Brown
just needs to bring it on every down and he will be a good one at the next
level. Brown is not as strong as McDaniel and thats one of the main reasons he
does not rank ahead of the Madison County star.
8) CJ
Mizell-Tallahassee Leon-LB-62-225-(Committed to Florida State)- In a year that
linebacker is not a strength in Florida it took a Georgia kid to land a spot in
the top 10. Mizell is big, strong and can run to the football. He has good
instincts and knows how to find the football. What we like most about Mizell is
how quickly he closes on the football. He is like a heat seeking missile on the
football field. He needs to work on going back into pass coverage to become a
complete linebacker.
9) Nick
Alajajin-Naples-OL-63-270-(Committed to Florida)- The last couple of years
Florida has produced some of the nations elite offensive lineman (Sam Young,
Mike Brewster and Matt Patchan). This year Alajajin is pretty darn good but not
at that same level. He is as good of a run blocking lineman as any of those
guys but his pass blocking must improve to become a complete player. He has
good feet and a nasty streak that any offensive line coach would like.
10) Brandon
McGee-Plantation-Ath-60-185- McGee is projected as a cornerback at the next
level but its on offense where he has done most of his damage. McGee is one of
types of players that can come to a complete stop and when he starts back up
seems to be in 5th gear. He is at his best with the football under
his arm. We like him as a receiver while most colleges are recruiting him as a
defensive back.
11) Demonte
McAllister-Alonso-DT-63-250-(Committed to Florida State)-Along with McDaniel
and Brown, McAllister ranks as one of the top defensive tackles in the country.
He is a bit taller then both the other sunshine state stars but lacks their
weight. He is more versatile and probably could line up at either defensive end
or tackle in college. He is a good athlete (plays some tight end) and can play
on either side of the football in college. He does a good job of using his
hands to shed blocks and get into the backfield. McAllister is a disruptive
force on the defensive line.
12) Lemar
Miller-Killian-RB-60-190-If not for some grade issues Miller would probably be
the #1 running back in Florida. Right now there are questions on whether or not
he will get qualified. He has the size (60) and speed (4.4) to become an elite
running back in college. The one thing that Miller must do a better job of
doing is running between the tackles. He does not mind running defensive
players over so becoming a between the tackles running should not be a problem.
His vision is good but not great. He can also catch the football out of the
backfield.
13) Jawanza
Starling-Lincoln-S-61-185- Last season TJ Bryant got drew most of the
attention from college scouts. It was Starling that stood out on film to elite
scouting services. When you watch Starling on film you notice he likes to lay
out what ever gets in his way. Starling is not afraid to sacrifice his body to
destroy a receiver coming across the middle of the field. He can play either
safety spot and excel at the next level.
14) Lonnie
Pryor-Okeechobee-RB-511-185-(Committed to Florida State)-When you mention
running backs and the state of Florida names like Berry, Richardson and Miller
are usually mentioned first. A back that is right up there with all of them is
Pryor. He is probably the best all-around back on the board. He is athletic
enough to play on either side of the football in college. Character wise you
will not find a much better kid coming out of high school.
15) Willie
Haulstead-Titusville-WR-62-200-(Committed to Florida State)-Haulstead is one
of those players that is college ready right now. He is big and physical. When
Haulstead gets to the next level smaller defensive backs are going to have
major problems with him. He will block the hell out of a defensive back on
running plays. Thats definitely one thing that stands out when you watch
Haulstead play. He needs to improve on his route running but that should not be
a problem once Willie gets coached up in college.
16) Jamaal
Berry-Palmetto-RB-59-190-(Committed to Ohio State)- Like with Miller, Berry
gets knocked down the board because of academics. If he was qualified along
with Miller they would probably be 1-2 in Florida and both would be top ten
players. Berry is a much more powerful back then either Miller or Pryor and has
just as much speed. He does a good job of running with his pads square to the
line of scrimmage and Berry never seems to go down on first contact. He needs
to improve as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
17) Jajuan Harley-Rickards-DB-60-180-
(Committed to Florida State)- We first saw Harley as a sophomore against
Wakulla. The stars we went to see that night were Nigel Bradham and CJ Holton.
The one player that really stood out was Jajuan Harley. The talented defensive
back displayed the ability to cover a ton of ground. He can play cornerback or
either safety spot in college. Harley versatility makes him a priority as a
defensive back.
18) Ryne
Giddins-Armwood-DE-63-255-At 63, 255 pounds Giddins has the ideal size you
want a defensive end to be coming out of high school. Thing is Giddins is just
entering his senior season. He is big, strong and pretty darn fast for a
defensive end. Against Tampa Plant last season Giddins lived in their backfield.
Its those types of games that get college recruiters excited.
19) Oliver
Vernon-American-DE-62-220-(Committed to Miami)-Vernon was a kid Elite Scouting
first saw play last season. He was already one of the top defensive players in
Dade County then. Vernon is a defensive end that comes off that edge and
creates havoc. He is super quick off the ball and is best in space. Vernon has
the short area burst you like to see from a defensive end or linebacker. He
could end up at either position in college.
20) Zeke Motta-Vero
Beach-S/SLB-63-215- Motta is a prospect that has quickly moved up the
rankings. At the end of the day he may end up the top linebacker in this years
class. He plays safety but at the next level, Motta will be a strong side
backer. He is probably the most complete linebacker in this class. He has nice
speed, instincts and Zeke is a hustle player. He also is very good at going
back into pass coverage.
21) Nukeese
Richardson-WR-58-165-(Committed to Florida)- There is football speed and then
there is track speed. Richardson may be one of the fastest football players in
the country. He is special with the football in his hands. In the open field
there is no way anyone is going to catch Richardson. His main knock is
Richardson is not real big. The question is can he take the physical pounding
at the next level.
22) Jarvis
Giles-Gaither-RB-510-175-(Committed to Tennessee)-Giles is not the big,
physical back that college coaches want but he sure is fast. His running style
is very smooth. He does not look like he is ever running that hard and you then
notice that Giles is picking up some major yardage. He has the ability to take
it to the house on any given play. He also is threat as a receiver out of the
backfield. Giles needs to learn how to pick up the blitz. Other then that he
should have no problem having success at the next level.
23) Rodney
Smith-Archbishop Carroll-WR-65-215-(Committed to Florida State)- You hear that
some players are 65 and then they show up at a combine and measure in at 62.
Smith is every bit of 65 and will play well over 200 pounds at the next level.
He has the size to physically dominate at the college level. Smith runs good
routes and knows how to use his body to shield the defender away from the
football. He lacks game breaking speed but every-time Smith lines up against
smaller defensive backs his size gives him the advantage.
24) Orson
Charles-Plant-TE-61-215- By many recruiting experts Charles is considered one
of the top tight ends in Florida. Elite likes the talented Plant star but
probably more on the defensive side of the football. As a tight end Charles
lacks great size (61) and speed. He runs good routes and knows how to get open
but as a stretch the field type tight end we are not sure. Charles does play
with a ton of emotion which we like.
25) Brandon
Jenkins-Florida High-DE-63-230-(Committed to Florida State)-Jenkins is a
prospect that is rarely talked about. We had the opportunity to watch him play
live last year and he dominated. Four sacks just in the first half of his game.
Jenkins was so disruptive that the other team tried to keep running away from
him all night. It did not matter as Jenkins continued to chase down the ball
carrier and make plays.
26) Henry
Orelus-Glades Central-OL-62-275- (Committed to Florida State)- Orelus has been
one of the top linemen in Florida the past two years. He plays with a nasty
streak and really gets after it on the football field. What you have to like is
Orelus has the type of feet you want to see on an offensive lineman. He lacks
great size but makes up for it in toughness. Henry is one of the tougher
offensive line prospects you will meet.
27) Jonathan
Harrison-Groveland-OL-63-270-(Committed to Florida)-Harrison is another
talented offensive line prospect in Florida. By the end of his senior season he
may rise to #1 on this list. He will probably end up at guard in college.
Harrison best attribute is his toughness. He really gets after it on the
football field.
28) Mike
James-Ridge-RB-511-200-(Committed to Miami)-Until James committed to University
of Miami earlier this year his name was hardly mentioned among the elite in
Florida. We saw film of him from last year and came away very impressed. He can
cut on either foot and runs with nice balance, vision and toughness. James
needs to improve as a receiver out of the backfield. Miami may have gotten
themselves a steal in James.
29) Ray
Armstrong-Seminole-DB/LB-63-210-Armstrong is another one of the talented
two-way players in this class. As a quarterback, Armstrong has the ability to
be a pretty good player. On defense he will most likely grow into an outside
linebacker. He has yet to find a position for the next level. Ray talent is all
based on potential at this point.
30) Chris
Thompson-Madison County-RB-58-180-(Committed to Florida State)-Thompson is one
of those players you recruit because of his versatility. He can make plays at
running back, receiver or even on special teams. Just get him the football and
Thompson has the ability to make big plays. He is not an every down back so
giving him the football 20 times a game is out of the question. Get him 15
touches a game as a running back, receiver and on special teams and Thompson
will excel.
31) Duron
Carter-Saint Thomas-WR-62-175-(Committed to Ohio State)- When you watch Duron
play you have to wonder if thats how his father Chris looked like in high
school. Duron runs his routes very well and pretty much catches everything
thrown his way. He does a good job of getting open. He does not have great
speed but that should improve as Duron continues to work on that part of his
game. He is probably one of the most polished receivers in this years class.
32) John Bostic-Palm
Beach Central-MLB-62-225- Many consider Bostic as one of the top linebackers
in Florida. He is strictly a MIKE backer at the next level so that limits what
Bostic can do in college. He is stout against the run but Bostic lack of speed
will limit him in pass coverage.
33) Jared
Wheeler-American Heritage Plantation-OL-64-290- At the start of his junior
season Wheeler was considered the top OL prospect in Florida. He still is one
of the top guys but his stock has slipped somewhat. He is a big kid but we
would like to see him dominate more at the point of attack. He has the physical
tools to be a very good player. He also projects more of a guard at the next
level. Wheeler could see his stock rise again with an impressive senior season.
34) Ben
Axon-Manatee-RB-62-195- (Committed to Clemson)-A few years backs guys like
Charlie Jones and Bobby Washington were considered the top backs in Florida.
This year you have guys like Lemar Miller and Jamaal Berry that are considered
two of the best. Back then it was Kevin Smith that got overlooked and ended up
the better back. It would not surprise us to see Axon end up in the same boat.
He is physically bigger then every other back on the board and just as
talented. He just lacks the home-run speed those other backs have. Does that
sound familiar. Smith was supposed to not have enough speed either.
35) James
Green-Leon-WR-61-185-(Committed to USF)-Green transferred from South Florida
up to Tallahassee in the spring. He then went on a dominated his spring game
and some are starting to wonder how high his stock can rise. He is not a real
physical receiver but Green can make the big play. It would not surprise us to
see Green end up a big time play maker in college.
36) Willie
Ferrell-FAMU-MLB-60-200-(Committed to LSU)-The last time LSU came to the
sunshine state and nabbed a linebacker like Ferrell his name was Ali Highsmith.
Like with Highsmith, Ferrell has a knack for the football. When we watched him
play the last two years, he was always around the football. The main thing he
lacks is great speed. He has all the other tools to be very good in college.
37) Rantavious
Wooten-Glades Central-WR-510-165- Glades Central has produced some talented
receivers over the past decade. Wooten is next in line as one of those
receivers. He has great short area burst and is very difficult for most
defensive backs to cover. He is not real big but its tough to put a hand on
someone that cant be caught.
38) Jayron
Hosley-Atlantic-CB-510-170- This is a down year in the state of Florida for
cornerbacks. For the first guy to come in the 40s thats all you need to know
about the position. Hosley should not be overlooked as he is a very talented
cornerback. What he lacks in size, Hosley more then makes up for in toughness.
He does a good job of opening up and running with receivers. He also does a
good job of anticipating when the football will arrive.
39) Jamal
Reid-Mayo-Ath.-510-175- Reid is a player that could end up on either side of
the football in college. He seems to be a play maker on offense. Most college
recruiters see Reid as a cornerback at the next level. The only thing he lacks
is game breaking speed. Thing is Reid seems to make a ton of game breaking
plays.
40) Ed Stinson-South
Dade-DE-64-245-(Committed to Florida State)- Stinson started his career on the
basketball court. He found his calling on the football field. Last year against
Homestead in the play-offs Stinson had his coming out party with five sacks. He
is raw but his up-side is what college scouts like. He has the frame to end up
a 265-270 pound defensive end in college.
41) Carlos
Hyde-Naples-RB/FB-60-220-(Committed to Ohio State)-Hyde is a big, power back
that can punish a defense. He is more of a between the tackles runner that will
pick up the tough yards. After wearing a defense down all game long, Hyde is
capable of breaking off some long runs. He is heading to the perfect conference
(Big 10) where his running style will fit in well.
42) Dyron
Dye-Seminole-DE-64-215- The last of the talented trio from Seminole is another
prospect drawing a ton of interest. He has a super quick first step off the
ball and gets up the field quickly. Dye needs to add weight to play defensive
end in college. If he cant put on the weight then where do you play Dye. He is
a pass rush specialist that may struggle against the run in college.
43) Rodney
Scott-Cross City-RB-510-185- Early on Scott committed to University of Auburn.
The talented back is the perfect fit for the spread offense. He runs well in
space and does not go down real easily. For his size he will run hard. Scott
has good vision and would do well in a zone-blocking type scheme.
44) Conner
ONeil-Saint Thomas-LB/S-61-195- Saint Thomas has some pretty good prospects
on their roster. By the end of his senior season it would not surprise us if
ONeil is the top senior on their roster. He plays the game with a ton of
passion and Conner has great instincts for where the football is at all times.
He plays with good technique and you rarely if ever will catch Conner out of
position.
45) David
Harding-Boone-OL-64-270- After Alajajin, Harrison, Orelus and Wheeler the next
group of lineman is lead by Harding. He may end up one of the best of the bunch
by the time he finishes his college career. He moves extremely well for his
size and Harding has yet to come even close his potential. He should have no
problem playing at our close to 300 pounds in college. Not only does Harding
get it done on the field he carries a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.
46) Denard
Robinson-Deerfield Beach-Ath.-60-185- If players are judged by how they do
against the best competition then watch Robinson against Saint Thomas Aquinas
last season. He single handily helped Deerfield Beach beat Saint Thomas. He is
a great athlete that happens to play the quarterback position. If he decides to
play receiver or defensive back in college, Robinson could end up one of the
top players in this class. He has top 25 athletic talents now Robinson needs to
continue getting it done on the football field.
47) Frankie
Telfort-Gulliver-LB-510-195- Telfort was a prospect that his name came up on
the recruiting radar early last season. He has played mainly as a linebacker in
high school. In college he will most likely get moved to the rover position.
The one question that needs to be answered is whether or not Telfort can go
back into coverage.
48) Arthur
Jeffrey-Sarasota Booker-DT-63-275- After Brown, McAllister and McDaniel there
is a bit of a drop-off at defensive tackle. Jeffrey is part of the next level
down from the talented trio. Jeffrey has the same type of talent but just needs
to consistently show it on the field. It would not surprise us at all to see
Jeffrey end up a top player at the next level. He will probably end up at some
SEC school and get drafted into the NFL.
49) Jeremy
Gallon-Apopka-Ath.-59-175- (Committed to Michigan)-As far as explosive there
are not many other players that lead in that category over Gallon. He is the
type of player that is a game changer. He is a very talented prospect that
could play on either side of the football. The only thing that will hold Gallon
back is academics.
50) Antwan
Lowery-Columbus-DT-63-330-Lowery is another talented defensive tackle in Florida.
When motivated, Lowery is very difficult to block at the high school level. He
has the physical talent to be a solid run stuffer. He needs to improve at
getting to the quarterback. Lowery could end up an offensive guard in college.
Antwan moves very well for someone his size and you could use him in space.
51) Andrew
Carter-Tallahassee Leon-OL-64-265-(Committed to Illinois)-Carter has played
mostly along the defensive front in high school. He will move to the offensive
line in college and probably end up a solid starter. He has good feet and a
nice motor. The one thing you would like to see him improve is his strength. He
still needs to get bigger and stronger especially now that Andrew is heading up
to BIG 10 country.
52) Mike
Gillislee-Deland-RB-60-190-(Committed to Florida)-Here is a player we had the
chance to meet first hand this spring. There are not too many better looking
prospects that play running back the Gillislee. Last season he was moved to
receiver and was not as productive as a sophomore. This year Mike moves back to
running back and it would not surprise us to see him have a monster senior
season. He is big, strong and pretty darn fast.
53) Daniel Mack-Dade
Christian-LB/S-510-190- Mack is a player that Elite Scouting brought to the
forefront. He is a talented two-way player that is also of high character. On
offense Mack takes a short yardage and run and breaks it for a long touchdown.
He also will blow up the ball carrier on defense.
54) Gabe Holmes-Saint Thomas
Aquinas-TE-65-215-The former basketball player really started to come on
strong at the end of last season. He had a nice play off game against Dillard
HS. This spring, Holmes got bigger and stronger. If he can improve both as a
pass and run blocker, Homes should see his stock rise. Gabe has played very
little football up to this point of his career.
55) Mywan
Jackson-Armwood-Ath.-511-185- Jackson is a prospect we really like. With such
a lack of talent at cornerback it would not surprise us to see Jackson end up
on defense in college. He is a play maker on offense but as a cornerback,
Jackson could end up really special.
56)Bryan Stork-Vero
Beach-TE/OL-64-255-(Committed to Florida State)-Stork is a kid that elite
scouting services noticed when they went out to meet his teammate Zeke Motta.
He plays tight end but will most likely play center or guard in college. He
fires out of his stance and does a good job of getting on his guy. Stork is
probably the best blocking tight end in Florida this year.
57) Dwayne Difton-Saint Thomas-WR-510-175-
With Carter on one side and Difton on the other there may not be a better
tandem of receivers in Florida this year. Difton is a prospect that really
improved at all facets of the game. He has improved his speed, his route
running and hands. There is no doubt coach Carter has made a drastic
improvement in Difton game.
58) Frankie
Crawford-Gulliver-S-60-165- Early on the talk in South Florida was all about
Northwestern safety Tevin McCaskill. Quietly, Crawford has moved ahead of the
Bulls star. He has a great nose for the football and Crawford makes plays. He
has a knack for coming up with the big interception. He has pretty good hands
for a defensive back. The only thing he lacks is great speed. He is more quick
then fast.
59) Lemar Scruggs-Fletcher-WR-63-200-
Scruggs has the size you like to see in a receiver. He also runs solid routes
and knows how to get open. What he lacks is great speed and burst. He does not
get a ton of separation from defensive backs. Where Scruggs will excel is on
third down and near the goal-line. He is a nice possession receiver who should
do well in a pro-style offense.
60) Trabis
Ward-Dillard-RB-59-185- One thing we always look for is players that are
productive. Ward pretty much
produced against all the top teams he played against last year. Against both
Saint Thomas and Cypress Bay, Ward was the entire offense for Dillard. He does
a good job of picking up positive yards. You rarely see him get taken down for
a loss. He also runs with a punishing style which allows him to wear a defense
down. You will see most of Ward long runs in the 2nd half after he
had done damage early on.
61) John
Scott-Seabreeze-DB/LB-65-215- Scott comes from a family that has already sent
two players to the D1 ranks. His brother Kenny played at Georgia Tech and James
Scott ended up at Ohio State. John is probably the biggest of the bunch. He is
built like a safety but probably will have to play linebacker in college. He is
a super gifted athlete that could end up a very good college football player.
62) Mike Carter-Ely-CB-510-165-
Early on it looked as if Carter would end up the top cornerback prospect in
south Florida. He has two knocks against him, Carter is not real big or fast.
He does do a good job of anticipated where the ball is going to go to. Carter
is not afraid to mix it up as well. He is a solid cornerback in a year that
solid may be good enough.
63) Vlad
Emilen-Plantation-S-60-180-After super talented Brandon McGee Plantation has a
couple of other solid D1 prospects. One of those players is safety Vlad Emilen.
He could play either safety spot but its our guess that Vlad plays SS in
college. He can play close to the line of scrimmage and help out in the run
game. Emilen is alright in pass coverage but thats not his strength.
64) Angelo
Hadley-Armwood-DB-511-190-While Giddins and Petey Smith get all the pub its
Hadley that should get more recognition. He does not have great size for a
safety but dont let that fool you, Hadley will mix it up. He is probably going
to end up at strong safety or weak-side linebacker in college.
65) Bradley
Battles-Marianna-510-175-We had the opportunity to watch Battles play last
year against Florida High. He was the only player on the Marianna football team
that really impressed us. He has already committed to play at South Florida. It
would not surprise us to see Battles play cornerback in college.
66) Leon Woods-Lake
Gibson-WR-62-190-Woods distinguished himself this spring and summer as a legit
receiver at the D1 level. He has performed well pretty much at every event we
have attended. Woods has a nice blend of speed and quickness. He is physical so
getting open across the middle of the field should not be a problem. Leon is
one of the more underrated prospects at his position in the country.
67) Nico Flores-North Miami
Beach-QB-62-190-In North Miami Beach spring game Flores solidified himself as
one of the three best quarterbacks in Florida. He showed great poise, accuracy
and a good arm. He is a drop back passer first and if everything else breaks
down Flores can beat you with his legs. He really showed a great improvement
this spring from the prior season. He has the talent o end up a top 50 player
in Florida by seasons end.
68) Cory Addison-Jacksonville
Jackson-DB-60-185- (Committed to South Carolina)-In a down year in
Jacksonville, Addison is one of the best prospects in the area. He is not super
fast but Addison makes up for that with good instincts. He knows where the
football is at all times and is very productive for Jackson defense. Addison
could end up a cornerback if he plays in the Big 10. He could also play either
safety spot in college. Cory is versatile enough to play pretty much every
position in the secondary.
69) Shane Gordon-Cypress
Bay-MLB-61-225- Gordon was a starter as a freshman on a state championship
team. Now he tries to lead Cypress bay to the promise land. Gordon has very
good instincts and is rarely caught out of position. He has a good nose for the
football. Gordon also can punish the ball carrier once he gets a hold of them.
What we really like about Gordon is how sound he is on the football field.
70) Bradley
Wallace-Dwyer-Ath-60-200- Wallace has played quarterback, running back,
receiver and defensive back. He is one of the better all-around football
players we have seen in the past year. Wallace will get his chance once again
to shine this year as his Dwyer football team is poised to make a run. He will
probably end up at safety in college and thats a position that Wallace could
really excel at.
71) Matt Coffee-Ft Walton
Beach-RB-510-220-(Committed to South Carolina)-Coffee older brother was a
heavily recruited prospect and ended up at Alabama. Matt will also join his
brother in the SEC as he is committed to South Carolina. It would not surprise
us to see Coffee end up at linebacker. He reminds of another Gamecock Emmanuel
Cook.
72) Victor Gray-Dr
Phillips-DE/DT-64-230- Gray is a prospect that transferred late last season
and ended up at Dr Phillips. He plays on both sides of the football but its as
a defensive end or tackles where Gray will make his presence felt. He was very
productive in the limited time that Gray played last year. If he has a monster
senior season looks for more schools to take notice.
73) Carlton Callender-Doral Academy-DB-60-190-While
Callender name has not been mentioned a whole lot that should change this fall.
He has great range and may be the best pure free safety in this class.
Callender pretty much dominated the 7-on-7 we attended this summer. If there
was a better free safety prospect this spring we would have like to have seen
him. He also runs track so speed is not a problem for Carlton.
74) John
Gallagher-Nease-DL/OL-64-240-(Committed to Wake Forrest)-Wake has done a
tremendous job recruiting the state of Florida and with the addition of
Gallagher that should continue. If not for an early commitment Gallagher would
have been one of the more heavily recruited prospects in that area. He could
end up on either side of the football.
75) Kayvon
Webster-Miami Pace-Ath.-510-185- Webster plays at a
school that has produced a ton of D1 talent. This year should be no different
as Webster is one of the top prospects in South Florida. He can play on either
side of the football and make an impact. He has played running back, receiver,
defensive back and linebacker.
76) Frankie Davis (East
Ridge)DT-62-265-Davis plays a position that there are never enough prospects
to recruit. He played well last season and got some interest from some BCS
programs. He can play either defensive end or inside at tackle at the next
level. We expect his stock to continue to rise in the fall.
77) Dontae
Aycock-Chamberlin-Ath-511-190-Aycock is another talented athlete that can play
anywhere on the field in college. He will either play running back or safety in
college. Aycock is the type of player you sign and worry about where to play
him once on campus. He is on a Chamberlain team that could do some damage this
fall.
78) David
Gilbert-Northeast-DE-63-215- Gilbert comes from a school that has produced
some D1 defensive prospects of late. Gilbert may end up the best of them all.
He is a hybrid outside linebacker/ defensive end prospect at the next level. He
already holds multiple offers from BCS programs and that list should continue to
grow in the fall.
79) Kendric
Johnson-Palmetto-DE-63-220-Here was a name that has slid under the radar in
Florida. One thing we like from a prospect is production. Last season Johnson
had double digit sacks. He knows how to get to a quarterback and that will draw
the attention of college scouts.
80) Steven Jacques-South
Broward-OT-64-275- With the lack of quality offensive line prospects in South
Florida, Jacques name will continue to pop up on recruiting list. He got into
much better shape this spring and really came on strong. He is very strong and
one of the best wrestlers in the state of Florida. Jacques has quick feet and
moves well for someone his size.
81) Ricardo
Dixon-Hallandale-CB-510-180-(Committed to USF)-Dixon was another player that was
being heavily recruited in the spring. He performed well enough in his spring
game to garner a ton of offers. He has pretty good hips and plays with solid
technique. He lacks great closing speed but the rest of his game is pretty
good.
82) Adaris Bellamy-Dunedin-RB-510-190-
(Committed to USF)-With so many quality running backs, Bellamy continues to get
overlooked. In between the tackles, Bellamy runs hard. If you need him to
bounce it outside Bellamy has more then enough speed and quickness to make a play.
Bellamy main concern is in the classroom.
83) Joshua
Robinson-Plantation-DB-511-185-Robison is part of a secondary that may end up
the best in South Florida. With Brandon McGee moving to cornerback, Vlad at one
safety spot, Devin Drane at the other cornerback spot and Robinson at possibly
free safety they will have four D1 prospects back there. Robinson has shown
really well all spring and summer so his stock continues to rise.
84) Lance Ray-East
Gasdsen-WR-63-210- One name that continues to get overlooked is Ray. He is a
big receiver that is very productive in high school. Last season he went
against Lincoln high school and got the best of their talented secondary after
going over 150 yards. He is getting recruited by many BCS programs.
85) Victor
Marc-Hallandale-Ath.-510-215- (Committed to USF)-Marc is a talented athlete
who just happens to play quarterback in high school. He will most likely end up
moving to another position in college. Marc could see time at running back,
linebacker or safety in college. He is the leader of the Hallandale offense
this year and they expect big things out of Mr. Marc.
86) Steadman
Bailey-Miramar-WR-511-185-When it comes to going across the middle of field
Bailey is tough as nails. He is Smith favorite target when it comes to the
clutch grab. He is not real big but Bailey will fight for the football. He has
good hands and runs solid routes. If he has a knock Bailey does not have
exceptional speed.
87) DAndre
Byrd-Lincoln-510-170-(Committed to Nebraska)-Bryd is a player that likes to
take chances. He makes some big plays but is also susceptible to big plays.
Bigger more physical receivers may give him some problems. Bryd does not min
coming up and playing in run support.
88) Kamran Joyer-Wesley
Chapel-63-320-(Committed to USF)-Joyer surprised us with an impressive
performance at the OL/DL camp at USF. He moves well for someone his size and
does not back down from a challenge. He needs to work on his technique somewhat
but USF got a heck of a line prospect. He could be one of the surprise players
in this years class.
89) Cory Akins-Madison
Co-RB-511-190-In the State Championship game against Tampa Catholic it was
Akins that made the breath taking play for Madison County. He runs with good
balance and vision. Cory biggest problem is he came out in a year that is
loaded with running backs.
90) Broderick Jenkins-South Ft
Myers-DB-510-180-Jenkins is a versatile athlete that can make plays on either
side of the football. He has the speed and quickness to also make an impact on
special teams. Jenkins will most likely play either cornerback or free safety
in college. He has pretty good speed as well which is why plenty of colleges
are recruiting him.
91) Kendall
Kelly-Gainesville-65-285-Kelly is a versatile lineman that could play on
either side of the football. He moves well for someone his size and on defense
will take up a ton of space. He would be best suited to stopping the run. On
offense he could play either guard or tackle in college. It would not surprise
us at all to see him on offense at the next level.
92) Richard Lee-Lake
Gibson-DB-61-190-With more teams going to the bigger receivers in college
football cornerbacks like Lee become a priority. He has pretty good hips and
Lee can open up and run with receivers. He is effective at jamming receivers at
the line of scrimmage to slow them down. He also can help out in the run game
where Lee does not mind coming up and tackling the ball carrier.
93) Shauntez
Bruce-Lincoln-OL-64-300-Bruce is one of the many D1 prospects Lincoln has on
their football team. He is big and can move well for his size. He needs to
continue working on his strength and conditioning. Bruce has the tools to be a
solid lineman at the next level. He can play either guard or tackle in college.
If he plays tackle it will most likely be on the right side.
94) Petey
Smith-Armwood-MLB-510-235- Smith ended his sophomore season as one of the more
heralded recruits for the class of 2009. He played well as a junior and now is
expected to take his game to another level. Smith is a sound player that makes
a ton of tackles. He may end up on the defensive line if Petey continues to
grow. At 235 he is already almost maxed out as a middle linebacker.
95) Tevin
McCaskill-Northwestern-DB-61-190-McCaskill, is a kid that many felt would be
an elite defensive back heading into his senior season. He had a sub-par
performance against North Miami Beach in his spring game which really hurt his
stock. He has the physical tools but Tevin needs to take his game to another
level to live up to his potential.
96) Quan
Fletcher-Krop-MLB-61-235- Fletcher plays middle linebacker in high school but
it would not shock us to see him move to the defensive line in college. Another
possibility is fullback in college if Quan goes to a team that uses one. He is
very physical and not easy to knock off the ball. Straight ahead Quan is a very
good linebacker. If asked to move side-line to side-line, Fletcher is not as
effective.
97) Corey Gaines-Godby-C/DT-
Gaines is not the biggest lineman on the board but he does pretty much
everything a coach can ask for. He is a hustle type player. What you notice
about Gaines on film or in practice is he goes hard all the time. Character
wise he is also a very good kid. He has quick feet and uses his hands well.
Gaines biggest knock is his size. Right now he is 60-61 tops. If he plays on
the offensive line it will most likely only be at center. He can play defensive
tackle in college. He would mainly be used as a situational pass rusher.
98) John Halapio-St Pete
Catholic-OG/OT-(Committed to Florida)-Halapio is a kid we saw last year over at
St Pete Catholic. He plays for a small school so John has been overlooked
somewhat. He is not quick enough to play on the outside at offensive tackle. He
does move well but Halapio is much better suited for the outside. He plays with
a mean streak which is what all offensive line coaches want.
99) Tommy Bohanon-N. Ft.
Myers-FB-(Committed to Wake Forrest)-With most teams going away from using a
traditional fullback players like Bohanon get overlooked. He is a tough,
hardnosed football player that will bowl over a defensive player that gets in
his way. Tommy is tough to stop near the goal line and in short yardage
situations.
100) Frank Souza-Nease-DL/OL-64-255-
(Committed to Wake Forrest)- Souza plays on the line with another Wake Forrest
commitment John Gallagher. He plays with the same type of passion as his Nease
teammate. Souza projects as an offensive lineman in college. Wake came into
Florida and landed two of the better line prospects in the State.
